This free door-to-door service provides rides to essential medical appointment or critical service need, such as obtaining a photo ID or grocery shopping. Individuals must live in Allegheny County and meet the program criteria. Appointments requested to be made in advance.

Assists residents find employment or identify training and educational opportunities to become more employable. Offers internet access and computer workstations so clients may conduct employment searches, draft/revise their resumes, practice typing skills and/or refresh their knowledge of office software.

Helps individuals and families to access mental health programs as well as services such as housing, education, advocacy, vocational training, and medical and legal needs.

Provides employment and training support to individuals of Native American, Alaskan, and Hawaiian descent.

The clinician will help you identify areas in your life that you would like to change and help you develop a plan to make these changes.

The clinician will arrange for you to see a PATH psychiatrist, if indicated.
You will meet with a psychiatrist who will complete an evaluation and may prescribe medication for you.
If you meet with a psychiatrist who does not speak Russian, your clinician will also attend the appointment and act as your translator.
You may continue to see both the psychiatrist for medication appointments and see the clinician for therapy.

You will meet privately with a psychiatrist. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in helping individuals with mental health problems. You will discuss, with your psychiatrist, your concerns and review the difficulties you are experiencing. You will receive a comprehensive evaluation to determine if medications could help to alleviate some of the symptoms you are experiencing. If medication is recommended, you are free to accept or decline the psychiatristâs recommendation. If you decide to take medications, the psychiatrist becomes a member of your treatment team and will meet with you on a regular basis to monitor your progress and facilitate your recovery. You may also meet with a nurse who will work closely with the psychiatrist to monitor your progress. You will continue to receive other PATH services that are recommended by your treatment team.

The Health Dept. offers a wide variety of educational and preventive programs and consulting services. Programs are available to schools, businesses, community organization, etc., and can be tailored to fit most health topics. Available programs include cancer prevention, cardiovascular health and screenings, childhood lead poisoning prevention, dental health, falls prevention, tobacco control, nutrition and physical activity, Lyme Disease and osteoporosis.

We provide three programs that address the needs of persons under the age of 22. They are as follows:

1. Our School-to-Work program is designed to provide high school-aged students with an IEP (Individualized Education Program) transition into the workplace. Through a vocational evaluation by our licensed psychologist and work done by the student in our workshop, the employment potential of the student is enhanced and assessed. In the workshop students develop vocational and employability skills that help them to successfully transition from school to work. If appropriate, students can also progress to participating in transitional work crews in the community. Students are paid at piece rate for the work they do in the workshop and at an hourly rate for community work crew. In addition, at the request of the school district, we can provide job development and job coaching. The School-to-Work program is funded by school districts, the Chester County Intermediate Unit or county programs.

Supports individuals in the development of resources to assist them in their recovery, such as finding housing, applying for benefits, and pursuing educational and vocational opportunities.

The Work Ordered Day Program consists of six work units: Clerical, Food Service, Education, Administrative, and Transitional Employment. New members may choose to experience each unit during an orientation period in order to determine which area is of greatest interest to them.

The Clerical Unit’s duties involve receptionist work, scheduling of appointments, outreach, and member intakes and orientation. Computers are available for training in word processing, database development, preparation of monthly newsletters, and research. Additional responsibilities include Database Management, Network Management, Internet Services, Web site Administration and Computer User Technical Support. Finally, this unit is also responsible for the ordering of supplies, photocopying and filing.

The vanAmerigen Food Service Unit’s responsibilities include meal preparation, grocery shopping, menu planning, outreach, cashiering, bank deposits, financial procedures, and operation of food service equipment and maintenanc

Serves as a residential treatment facility that provides progress-based rehabilitative and habilitative drug and alcohol services. Serves men with chronic addiction, drug-related criminal offenses, co-occurring disorders, and both voluntary and involuntary placements. Individualized treatment programs are offered and tailored to fit the needs of residents. Residents also receive education for their GED, ServSafe Certification, and vocational education.

Offers a day program that includes music therapy, physical education and aquatics, life skills, vocational training, and community skills. Recreational and leisure programs also include arts and crafts, horticultural activities, and other community activities.

Provides a structured day designed to assist the medically stable individual with a neuropsychologic impairment or acquired brain injury in developing adaptive skills that can enable him/her to resume effective community living. Focuses on specific clinical evaluations and therapies, pre-vocational needs, interpersonal and social relationships, family, community educational and work adjustments.

Provides intensive support to assist individuals to develop the practical skills they need to live as independently in the community as possible. Persons live together in a house with their own bedroom and shared living space. They are offered training in skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, vocational and educational pursuits, time management, and medication management. Trained staff is available in the home 24 hours a day.

Provides residential facilities and educational programs.
