LANTA also operates Carbon County Community Transit, aka LYNX, a fixed route network serving Carbon County and LANtaVan, a door-to-door transportation service for seniors and people with disabilities.

A federally funded program designed to answer questions older adults have about Medicare, Medigap, Medicaid, long-term care insurance and preventive care. Apprise is free, confidential, and staffed by trained volunteers who can provide older adults with clear and objective advice about available insurance options, help with medical insurance paperwork and answer questions about the appeals process. Counselors are located at various sites throughout Lehigh and Northampton Counties.

Senior center offers various classes and activities. Must pay to play bingo or pool. Hot meal is served Monday through Friday, 11:15am, but must arrive by 10:45am. Provides assistance to active and retired railroad workers. Handles retirement and survivor benefits, Medicare enrollment, and unemployment and sickness benefits.

Offers a free initial consultation by phone or in person-of up to 45 minutes with a local attorney who meets AARP standards of experience and customer service. Assists with simple wills, powers of attorney, and living wills.

Offers hot meals and delivers Meals on Wheels to home-bound seniors. Provides APPRISE counselors who help with Medicare information and resources. Pennie is Pennsylvania's official health insurance marketplace. It offers financial assistance to help lower the cost of coverage and care.

State health insurance assistance program counseling for people with medicare. Assist with issues relation to medicare, prescriptions and supplemental health insurance. Our staff can help with billing, PACE applications and a myriad of concerns, providing information allowing educated decisions and peace of mind.

RSVP provides volunteer opportunities in the local community including meal delivery, community food pantries, senior community centers, transporting clients who no longer drive to medical appointments and to shop for groceries, and team counseling on Medicare and health-insurcance-related matters.

The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veteran Affairs provides resources and assistance to Pennsylvania's one million veterans and their families, and provides quality care for aging and disabled veterans.

On April 24, 2006, House Bill 1820 was signed into law as Act 29 of 2006. This Bill establishes the Persian Gulf Conflict Veterans Benefit Act. On November 7, 2006, Pennsylvania voters gave overwhelming approval to a ballot question to fund the program. The bond issue created a fund for the payment of compensation to, or on behalf of, eligible current and former members of the United States Armed Forces, a reserve component of the United States Armed Forces, or the Pennsylvania National Guard.

Eligible Pennsylvania veterans of the Persian Gulf Conflict are entitled to receive:

• A one-time benefit of $75 per month for each month (or major fraction thereof) of active service in the Persian Gulf Conflict Theater of Operations during the covered period. The maximum compensation is $525.

Provides eligible blind veterans a pension of $150.00 per month.
