Crisis intervention at any location is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An outgrowth of the JFK Mobile Emergency Team is the Crisis Specialist Program. Crisis Specialist professionals meet the consumer at his or her location, stay to stabilize the situation and determine if further care is needed. This service is also available through the same delegate line as the JFK Mobile Emergency Team. Central Intake / Crisis Intervention provides a central access point to help reduce the use of psychiatric hospitalization and connect people to services with the least disruption possible to their everyday lives. Outreach to the homeless is ongoing and takes place in various areas of the city as the need arises.

Ronald McDonald House: Provides a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

Ronald McDonald Family Room: Extends the comfort of a Ronald McDonald House into the hospital. Often located steps away from pediatric and intensive care units, a Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a place to recharge, enjoy a warm meal, talk with other parents and simply relax.

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Programs: Brings cost-effective, high-quality medical, dental and health education services directly to under served children in rural and urban areas across the globe.

Offers free medical care including physical examinations and education on topics such as disease management, lifestyle changes, self-care, diet, medication management, mobility issues, and safety issues. The clinic is staffed by nurse practitioners and registered nurses from the School of Nursing faculty, students, alumni, and community volunteers.

Mobile Psychiatric Rehabilitation (MPR) services provide one-to-one direct skills training and development of community resources to adults with serious mental illness.

Crisis Intervention - Susquehanna County - SCC - Susquehanna County Crisis Intervention
Provides immediate mental health care and evaluation. Scranton Counseling Center has on-call workers available to provide crisis assessment and crisis intervention to individuals utilizing Endless Mountain Hospital or Barnes Kasson Hospital Emergency Departments. Also provides Crisis Mobile Team to Susquehanna County residents.
Eligibility: Residents of Susquehanna county who are in a state of emotional crisis.

Provides immediate mental health care and evaluation for persons in a state of emotional crisis. Also has Crisis Mobile Team available to provide home/community crisis interventions.

Schuylkill Home Care
Provide the following services: ADL's, bathing, blood pressure monitoring and care, bowel care, caregiver notes, denture care, dressing assistance, exercise support, feeding, grooming assistance, housekeeping, hygiene support and monitoring, IADL's, incontinence support, laundry, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility assistance, monitoring catheter output, monitoring fluid intake, monitoring oxygen use, shopping and errands, special diets, toileting, transfer assistance, transportation and turning. All aides are trained in accordance with the guidelines of the PA Dept of Health. Staff must go through background checks. Caregivers are screened for tuberculosis and are certified in CPR. All aides are insured and bonded and covered by workers compensation.
