The EICIP program helps families in Beaver County by providing Developmental Screenings for children from three months to 6 years of age with evaluations in hearing, speech, behavioral, and development to identify possible delays and who may be at risk for abuse or neglect. Additionally, Crisis Child Care helps to provide a safe environment for children ages birth to 6 years who are at-risk, along with providing Home-Based Family Support for families who may be experiencing the effects of poverty, mental/physical health concerns, developmental delays, behavioral delays, addiction, single parenting, or other stressors that may impact their ability to parent effectively and/or safely.

Puretone and Tympanometry screenings are conducted in both ears for children and adults. If an individual does not pass the screening measures, a recheck may be conducted in two or four weeks, or the individual may be referred for an audiological evaluation and/or a medical examination. Children under the age of 3 are screened using a Hear Kit consisting of a variety of sounds and pitches.

Provides free screenings for speech, language, motor skills, vision, and hearing. Recognizing the importance of detecting early development delays and connecting families with services to assist with these delays.

Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit
Milton - Early Head Start
A free program for expectant mothers and families with infants and toddlers ages birth to 36 months who live in Northumberland County. Families enrolled in the home-based program participate in weekly home visits where information is provided for educational and developmental growth. To encourage social interaction, families are invited to attend the center twice a month where fun activities and a healthy snack are provided. Infants and toddlers in the program receive several health screenings within the first 45 days of enrollment, including vision, hearing and developmental screenings. Participantsâ medical and dental visits are tracked by a licensed practical nurse (LPN) on staff. Expectant mothers are visited weekly in the home where lessons are provided on health, nutrition and child development topics. Each trimester during pregnancy, an LPN visits and discusses any concerns the pregnant mother may have. At birth, the baby then becomes enrolled in the Early Head Start program.

Affordable Hearing Aid Helpline
