Because children of migrant farm workers move so frequently to accommodate harvest demands, they often fall behind their non-migrant peers developmentally, socially and educationally. The Migrant Education program works to ensure that migrant students receive educational services necessary to develop to their fullest potential.

The Migrant Education program annually provides supplemental educational services to over 2,000 children in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties, and in the city of Philadelphia.

Specific services include: educational support services, extended school-day programs, summer programs, pre-school instruction, parental involvement, post-secondary orientation programs, health and social service agency referrals, leadership skills development and survival skills.

Programming provides support of summer and school-year campus and home-based programs for children of seasonal and temporary migrant workers through Pennsylvania state grant funding. Services to students ages 3 to 21 include student advocacy, supplemental instruction, summer program, home visits, afterschool programs, service learning programs and credit recovery or reconnection for secondary students.
