Administrative Office and Transitional Housing - Transitional Housing for Single Mothers and their Children
Provides housing and supportive services to single mothers and their children who are experiencing homelessness or are survivors of domestic violence.

Program includes case management and supportive services.

Families at HEARTH are required to select an employment or education pathway to permanent housing.
Eligibility: Single mothers with children
Experiencing homelessness or survivors of domestic violence
Sober for 4 months minimum
Family must have a source of income
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Local Task Force for the Right to Education in Allegheny County - Homeless Children's Initiative
Helps homeless students, including preschoolers, to enroll in, attend, and succeed in school. Provides school enrollment assistance, transportation assistance, school supplies, uniforms, and other required items. Also offers after-school programs and preschool.

Identify homeless students within the School District of Lancaster and to ensure that identified students are enrolled in school, their educational needs are assured, and disruptions in their attendance and academic program are minimized. A Task Force, comprised of representatives of numerous social service agencies advises the project. Efforts to assist homeless students have included:
- Policy changes permitting the admission of homeless students whose immunizations have been started, but not completed, or whose school records are incomplete.
- A small fund to purchase bus passes for a temporary period to facilitate the attendance of "sheltered" students. HSP workers also use the fund to purchase school uniforms and supplies for students for whom lack of these items is a barrier to their enrollment and attendance
- Referrals to after-school tutor and mentor programs
- Ongoing inservice program for teachers and service staff to increase their awareness of homelessness issues and their k

Milagro House

Does NOT provide emergency shelter/housing.
Education-based program that provides services to women and children experiencing homelessness and poverty.
The following services are provided:
* Housing: Provides a safe and secure environment in which residents are able to focus on achieving educational and life goals. Their model includes a private room for each family and shared living space among all resident families.
* Education: Consists of two tracks: High School Equivalency and Post-Secondary. Upon acceptance to the program, a woman without her high school diploma will be enrolled in their on-site high school equivalency degree program where she will receive a written IEP (Individual Education Plan) and one-on-one instruction. A woman who enters their program having completed high school or previously attained her high school equivalency/GED will be enrolled in their post-secondary track.
* Life Skills: Provides workshops and resources for families residing at Milagro House including budgeting

Beth Shalom House of Peace
Provides transitional housing and supportive services for women leaving prison who have a desire to learn how to live their life according to Christian principals and be reunited with their children. The program teaches positive parenting, life skills and financial responsibility through schooling and employment, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve responsibilities. Christian faith is at the core of Beth Shalom's guiding principles and objectives.

Beth Shalom's facility has five apartments. Residents pay nominal program fees and stay up to one year. Tabor Community Services provides programmatic and administrative support.
