Counselor Advocates provide interventions that are action-focused, client-centered, and trauma informed. This interaction occurs one-on-one between a trained advocate and victims/survivors, or their significant others. Program focuses on understanding the complexities and effects of victimization. Also, assists with exploring options and ways to implement strategies to overcome obstacles.

Group Empowerment Counseling: Counselor Advocates provide interventions that are action focused, client-centered, and trauma informed. This interaction occurs between a trained advocate and two or more victims/survivors and/or significant others in an informal, confidential setting. The group encourages participants to build rapport and mutual respect. This gives them the opportunity to reduce isolation and become empowered.

WOAR - Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence
Philadelphia - Court Advocates
Court Advocates are trained to be helpful to child and adult sexual abuse and sexual assault survivors at all stages of the court process. The WOAR Court Advocates provide court accompaniment, emotional support, legal information and advocacy.

In some cases, family members of the victim/witness may be sequestered (removed from the courtroom) during the testimony of the victim/witness.

The WOAR Court Advocates and the Assistant District Attorney (ADA) work together to reassure and support the child, teen, or adult survivor. Also, WOAR Court Advocates can assist with counseling referrals.
