Courthouse - Veteran Treatment Court and Veteran Mentor Program
Veterans Treatment Court is designated as a Problem-Solving Court- designated to serve only U.S. military veterans, National Guardsmen, and Reservists. Targeted population served is primarily combat veterans, who may or may not suffer with post-traumatic stress and/or TBI (traumatic-brain injury) and/or addiction problems. Primary goals: helping participating veterans access therapeutic care, VA benefits and services, comply with legal requirements of VTC, and lead productive, law-abiding lives. Team approach to assisting participants in a person-centered manner.



Volunteer mentors vital component to VTC programming. Mentors are trained volunteer U.S. service veterans who provide support, guidance, insight and hope to fellow veterans who have become involved with the criminal justice system. Mentors lend an ear, act as a sounding board, and provide guidance from a perspective only a veteran can do. Mentors link their mentees to a plethora of community and veteran resources, as needed. Eligibility: To become a mentor, must be a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, including National Guard and Reserves, with a DD214 showing an honorable discharge. Open to any age, sex, race, ethnicity, etc.
Hours: Monday through Friday,

8:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Intake Procedure: Schedule appointment. To apply to become a mentor, complete application and background check. Submit copy of DD214 to Mentor Coordinator. Complete a 90 minute online training and submit certification.
