Seeks volunteers to provide training and care for the horses and help the riders learn to care for their horses before and after they ride.
Eligibility: No experience needed to volunteer. All potential volunteers must complete PA and Penn State background clearances.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Helpful Tips: Benefits Riders with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities often find that the horse's three-dimensional motion facilitates balance, flexibility, muscle control, and strength. Individuals with physical and emotional challenges are able to form a special bond with the horse which can lead to increased confidence, patience, and self-esteem. Riding can also: Improve eye-hand coordination, Improve balance, Enhance coping skills, Increase communication skills, Increase motivation, and Increase attention and visual skills.
