Franklin County Government Human Services Building - Veteran Affairs
The goal of Operation REACH (Relief for Emergency Assistance through Community Help) is to assist veterans who are struggling with substance abuse and/ or co-occurring mental health needs get the help that they need.
This initiative will focus on the comprehensive needs of the veteran and delivering services through a holistic approach.
Operation REACH will strive to provide intervention support services through a targeted case management model. Veterans and their families will benefit from targeted case management through assistance in coordination with basic necessities.
Unlike many programs, characterization of discharge will not serve as eligibility criteria for Operation REACH.
Services provided include, but may not be limited too:
" Mental Health Treatment Services
" Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Services
Eligibility: Individuals must be a veteran who resides in Franklin County and also has either a mental health or substance use issue.

Fee Amounts: Services are provided at no cost.
Intake Procedure: Individuals should call the office to schedule an appointment for services.

For those individuals who have a referral for housing services sent via a non-hmis referral process, please note that the Franklin County Veteran Affairs office will call, within (3) business working days, directly to the individual to follow-up the current information and determine if the individual meets the eligibility for services.

At that point, an intake appointment is scheduled with the individual.

Helpful Tips: Veterans should come with documentation of diagnosis, if they already have it. Those who do have a diagnosis, can speak with the contact, as services can be arranged to assist with getting a diagnosis.
