Potter County Assistance Office - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Helps Pennsylvanians in eligible low-income households to buy food. Eligible individuals and families receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) ACCESS Card to use for food purchases.
Eligibility: Pennsylvania residents. Eligibility and amount of benefit are determined by household size, monthly income, and whether any members of the household are 60 or older or have a disability.

Intake Procedure: Individuals may apply:
A) Online using the Intake Website or COMPASS mobile app
B) In Person: at the local County Assistance Office
C) On Paper: Download the application on the Intake Website and return it by mail

Intake Requirements: Photo ID, Social Security Number, and documentation of income and resources
Geographical Area: Service available in all of Pennsylvania.

Each County Assistance Office serves ONLY residents of the county in which it is located.
Helpful Tips:
There is a simplified SNAP application available to use if everyone in the household:
  • is age 60 or older or has a disability,
    • purchases and prepares food together, and
    • does not receive any earnings from work

      (A household is a group of people who usually purchase and prepare meals together. People in the household are not required to be related.)
