Brookville - Victims Compensation Assistance Program
Ensures victims and witnesses of crimes receive all the services afforded under the Bill of Rights. Services include help with filing, detailing important information throughout the process, and referrals. Compensation assistance may also cover any non-reimbursable medical costs, loss of wages, loss of ability to earn wages, funeral expenses, relocation expenses, and crime scene clean-up cost.
Eligibility: 1. Crime happened in Pennsylvania
2. The crime was reported within 72 hours.
3. Victim must fully cooperate with law enforcement.
4. Costs must be more than $50.00 out of pocket. (Victims 60 years of age or older do not need the $50.00 minimum.)
5. Claims must be filed within five years of the crime except in cases when the victim is a child.
