WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital - Healthy Beginnings Plus
Funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Healthy Beginnings Plus is a program for pregnant women who are income eligible. During pregnancy income eligibility increases to 185% above Federal Poverty Guidelines. Services provided by the program include:
- medical care provided by a doctor or nurse midwife
- pre-natal education by a nurse educator
- assistance of a special counselor
- nutrition instruction
- childbirth education
- parenting and baby tips classes
- breastfeeding classes
- smoking cessation programs
- access to dental care through affiliation with Welsh Mountain Dental Clinic

Program site:
Medical office building adjacent to the main hospital (Lower Level-Suite 157)
Eligibility: Pregnant women; Patient must apply for medical assistance and be approved; Application can be done at the ECH Credit Department
Hours: Office: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm
Clinic: Monday, 12:30pm to 4:30pm
Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30am to 12:30pm
