York - Kid's Group
Offers groups that support children who have experienced loss and/or change (i.e., death, divorce, substance abuse, child abuse, hospitalization, or foster care) within their family life. Provides an educational understanding of the effects these stresses have on children and provides an emotional outlet for them.
Eligibility: York County children ages 5 to 17 years old
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm; Friday, 8:30am to 1:00pm

Helpful Tips: There are several options for participation in Kids’ Group. We offer 10-week cycles in which children meet weekly in their school setting and four-day Kids’ Group Camps which meet for three hours per day for four consecutive days during the summer months. Topics included in each cycle are: Identifying and Expressing Feelings; Separations and Losses; Understanding and Prevention of Substance Abuse; Body Safety; Internet Safety/Anti-Bullying; Coping Techniques; Building Self-confidence, Self-esteem, and Social Skills; Managing Stress; Good Decision-Making Skills; Anger Management; Mindfulness; Self-regulation; and Cultivating friendships.
