UPMC Home Care and Hospice - Hospice
Medicare/Medicaid certified, JCAHO accredited and state-licensed hospice program providing physical, emotional, social and spiritual support at home or in a nursing or personal care home. Skilled, certified hospice and palliative care nurses experienced in pain and symptom control. Certified hospice aides provide added personal care. Trained hospice volunteers offer companionship and support for both patient and family. Able to care for patients on IV's or with PICC-lines or morphine pumps. 24-hour nursing during periods of medical crisis; inpatient respite care; and follow-up bereavment support for the family/caregiver. Pays for prescription drugs/pharmaceuticals, medical equipment/supplies necessitated by the terminal illness.

Nurses are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 24-hour answering service.
Eligibility: Adults and children medically diagnosed with any incurable illness that limits life expectancy.
