Wilkes-Barre Center - Senior Peer Counseling Program
Screened and trained senior volunteers are prepared to discuss issues related to aging, such as stress and isolation. Provides weekly phone or home visits with volunteers for conservation and socialization. Offers volunteer opportunities with training for senior peer counselors.
Eligibility: Residents of Luzerne county age 50 and older, who are mainly homebound; volunteers 55 and older who enjoy meeting and talking with new people.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm as scheduled.
