Philadelphia Department of Public Health - Health Care Centers
Injury Prevention Program
Program has two components. The first is Free Home Safety Inspections. Field Investigators inspect homes for common safety issues such as the presence of a smoke detector, moderate hot water temperature and carbon monoxide leaks. Safety measures such as rubber bath mats and night lights are provided to aging adults free of charge. The other component is a Child Safety Seat Loan Program. It loans child car seats to low-income families. The families receive education on the proper installation and use of the car seat.
