Provides free housing counseling and free legal advice to give homeowners a way to negotiate with their mortgage lenders. Can also assist with property tax questions and appeals. Call if you have missed a mortgage payment, mortgage payments have suddenly increased, there is a problem with mortgage, have unpaid property taxes or City/water liens, got letter from Sheriff’s Office, don’t understand your loan documents, been the victim of foreclosure rescue scam, or have reverse mortgage questions.
Eligibility: Residents of Philadelphia County whose properties are in the process of mortgage foreclosure
