Unemployment Compensation (UC) is a program that provides income if you lose your job through no fault of your own. If you qualify, you will receive money for a limited time while you look for another job. To be covered by the UC program, you must be a worker who performed services covered by the UC Law for an employer that is required by law, or elects to pay into the UC Fund.

Intake Procedure: Claimants with a Social Security number ending in an odd number will now be asked to call the service centers on Mondays; those with a Social Security number ending in an even number should call Tuesdays.

Helpful Tips: Talking Points for UC 4/20/20 *Covid19 related addition:
-When a UC claim is opened, the individual will receive a PIN in 5-7 business days that will allow them to file bi-weekly claims. If you do not receive a pin in the outlined timeline, do not refile. You will receive the claim as soon as possible and the payments will be backdated to your original claim.
-If you do not qualify for UC claims, you may be eligible for PUA. PUA claims are for gig workers, self employed, people with a lack of sufficient work history, or are people seeking part time work. These individuals work must be affected by COVID-19. PUA will last for the duration of the pandemic, at most the length will last for 26 weeks as of now. The PUA application is available at https://www.uc.pa.gov/unemployment-benefits/file/Pages/Filing-for-PUA.aspx.
-People who claim UC or PUA will also receive an additional $600 weekly payment from the CARES Act. This boosted payment will last for the next 4 months.
