Milton - Family Self Sufficiency
Provides a federally funded program which offers housing assistance as part of a coordinated program of housing, child care, and transportation assistance; personal and career counseling; educational assistance; and job training and placement for families with low to moderate incomes. Some of these services are outsourced to service providers in the community and all are not solely provided by the Housing Authority. The goal of the Family Self-Sufficiency Program is to help motivated individuals become economically self-sufficient. In order to qualify for the Family Self-Sufficiency Program, you must currently be a part of the Housing Authority of Northumberland County's public housing program or Rental Assistance Program.
Eligibility: Program participants must have completed eighth grade and must also meet the programs income guidelines. Applicants who are approved into the Family Self-Sufficiency Program will enter into a contract with the Housing Authority of Northumberland County.
Hours: Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
