Shamokin - Sexually Transmitted Disease Screening
Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic services are confidential and free for males and females of all ages and incomes.
Services include:
A) Education & Counseling
B) Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Testing & Treatment (cervical smear for females, urine test for males)
C) Syphilis Testing & Treatment (blood test)
D) HIV Antibody Testing (blood test, includes pre- and post-test counseling)
E) Diagnosis of other STDs and vaginal infections (including, but not limited to, Genital Warts, Herpes, Trich, Bacterial Vaginosis, and yeasts Infections)
F) Partner Notification (at the patients request, a PA Department of Health nurse will confidentially notify any or all of the patients partners in the event of a reportable positive test result)

Additional blood tests for Hepatitis C and Herpes treatments for external genital warts are offered through the Family Planning program at special reduced rates.
Eligibility: Family Planning serves individuals of all ages and incomes.
Hours: Mondays through Wednesday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Fee Amounts: Fees are based on household size and gross (before taxes) household income. Some individuals qualify for free services and most qualify for discounted services.
