Kennett Square - Emergency Financial Assistance for Housing and Utilities
Offers emergency assistance for individuals and families who are in need of help with rent/mortgage to prevent eviction or utilities/heating fuel. Utilities include electricity, oil, gas, coal, firewood, sewer and water. The maximum amount of each assistance payment is one month's utility usage, one minimum delivery of oil/coal/firewood, one month's rent or one mortgage payment.
Eligibility: Chester County residents in service area who do not qualify for county's Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP).
Utilities bill in arrears or due within five days
All other resources used up
Applicant lives in the residence and is the bill payer
Assistance guarantees 30 more days of utilities service or continued stay in the residence.
Hours: Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

    • Proof of emergency
    • For utility assistance: utility bill
    • For rental assistance: Completed KACS landlord form and lease

    19346, 19347, 19348, 19350, 19351, 19352, 19357, 19360, 19362, 19363, 19366, 19374, 19375, and 19390
    Helpful Tips: All services are available to eligible residents in Avon Grove, Kennett Consolidated, and Unionville school districts. Some services are available to eligible residents in Oxford School District; call for details.
