Clinton Area Office - Single Family Housing Direct Home Loans
Assists low- and very low-income applicants obtain decent, safe, and sanitary housing in eligible rural areas by providing payment assistance. Offers mortgage financing to help applicants buy, build, improve, or repair a rural home as their primary residence. Payment assistance is a temporary subsidy that reduces the mortgage payment for a short time to increase an applicant’s repayment ability.
Eligibility: Applicants must:
A) Have an adjusted income at or below the low-income limit for the area in which you wish to buy a house, and the property must be located in an eligible rural area; visit the website below for income and property eligibility requirements
B) Be without decent, safe, and sanitary housing
C) Be unable to get a loan with reasonable terms and conditions from other resources
D) Agree to live in the home as your primary residence
E) Have the legal capacity to incur a loan obligation
F) Meet U.S. citizenship or noncitizen requirements
G) Not be suspended or debarred from participation in federal programs
