University of Pennsylvania Hospital / Health System - ASPIRE Program
Offers an enrichment program on careers in the nursing profession for high school juniors in Philadelphia. Enrichment sessions meet during second half of junior year and include meals and transit passes. Invites students who complete junior year back for senior year. Pays $500 stipend for each completed year. Offers scholarship opportunity to study nursing at La Salle University to seniors who complete the program. Provides access to a variety of academic, financial, peer, and social supports.
Eligibility: Students in the 11th grade (junior year) who attend high school in Philadelphia with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale; US citizen, non-citizen national, or legal permanent resident; Household demonstrates financial need
Hours: Application Period: September 1, 2023, to November 13, 2023;
Weekly Enrichment Sessions: Saturday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, February 3, 2024, through April 13, 2024
