Family Services - Student Transition and Recovery Program (STAR)
Programming that combines military-style discipline efforts, counseling, and academic instruction to improve the overall quality of the learning environment, address truancy issues, and reduce or eliminate the need for out-of-home placement. STAR allows students to remain in their homes and schools as an alternative to juvenile detention centers and alternative schools.
Eligibility: Tioga county middle school students (ages 9-15) who have committed offenses that warrant suspension from school or detention in a juvenile facility.
Hours: Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm
