Connects volunteers who have served in the military and share similar interests and life experience with veterans in mental health recovery. Volunteers provide supportive friendship and mentoring relationships to promote wellness and inclusiveness.

Veteran volunteers can promote the camaraderie that exists between two veterans.
Eligibility: Veterans in mental health recovery.

Any service member, active, discharged, or retired, of any service branch, regardless of discharge status, is eligible to become a program volunteer.

Hours: Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Service/Program Hours: As mutually agreed by the client and volunteer.

Fee Amounts: Service is provided free of charge.
Intake Procedure: CompeerCORPS Volunteer Application available on website (linked below). Once the application is completed along with two references and a copy of the DD214, the program coordinator will complete background checks. Once that step is completed, a short training is provided, either online or in person.

From there, the veteran volunteer will be matched with a veteran who is interested in making a new friend.

Intake Requirements: The required documents include the DD214; driver's license and proof of insurance; standard three clearances: state, FBI criminal background and child abuse.
