Cribs for Kids
Provides infant safe sleeping environments to low income families throughout the country through its partner agencies. Provides safe sleep education to parents and professionals.
Eligibility: The Cribs for Kids program is in all birthing hospitals in Allegheny County.

Fee Amounts: Crib program is free to those who fit the income requirements, have a child under 1 year of age. For those who do fit the requirements, services are offered at discounted prices.
Intake Procedure: The Cribs for Kids program is in all birthing hospitals in Allegheny County, PA. Here is how to access the in-hospital program:
  • After you deliver your baby, you will be asked to watch our safe sleep educational video
  • A nurse will then ask you to complete a form acknowledging that you received the education
  • You will be asked if you have a safe place for your baby to sleep. In the rare case a nurse does not directly ask you, please ask them about the program
  • If you do not have a safe place for your baby to sleep, a portable crib will be given to you before you leave the hospital.
