Main Office, Downtown Pittsburgh - Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP)
Provides Pittsburgh Regional Transit fare to and from non-emergency Medicaid-reimbursable services and facilities. Included are doctor's appointments, other medical trips (dentist, therapist, pharmacy), drug and alcohol counseling, and mental health counseling as long as the services are billed through Medical Assistance.
Eligibility: Allegheny County residents who receive Medicaid (Medical Assistance). Must be age 64 or younger and able to ride public transportation.

Intake Procedure: Applications available and accepted at most in-network Medicaid health service providers.

Intake Requirements: Applicants must complete the Medical Assistance Transportation Program Application and Cover Letter and submit for processing within 30 days of signature.

Consumers must be deemed eligible by Travelers Aid and MATP, must reside in Allegheny County, and must verify all services to receive assistance.

Helpful Tips: Application processing takes approximately 5-7 business days.

Assistance is provided only to services that are billed to Medicaid, including trips to the doctor, dentist, eye appointments, therapy trips, emergency room, and methadone maintenance.
